Welcome to FitCheck AI ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience when using our mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, username, and profile picture (optional).
• Style Profile: During onboarding, we collect your gender, age range, style preferences, clothing sizes, and style goals to personalize your experience.
• Photos and Images: When you use our Fit Checker, Wardrobe, or Wishlist features, you upload photos of your outfits and clothing items. These images are processed by our AI to provide analysis and recommendations.
• User Content: Outfit combinations, piece descriptions, tags, and any other content you create within the App.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: We collect information about the device you use to access the App, including device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
• Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the App, including features used, actions taken, and time spent in the App.
• Analytics Data: We use analytics tools to help us understand App usage patterns and improve our services.
• Approximate Location (optional — for local weather): If you choose to allow location access when prompted, the App uses your device’s approximate coordinates only to show current weather (temperature and conditions) in the Wardrobe screen—for example, to help you see what it’s like outside where you are. We do not store your location on our servers for this feature. Your coordinates are used on your device and sent only to Apple’s Weather service (WeatherKit) when available, or to a public weather API as a fallback, solely to retrieve current weather for that spot. You can deny location access in iOS Settings; the rest of the App works normally, though the weather display may be limited or show a generic placeholder.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our App and services
• Process and analyze your outfit photos using our AI technology
• Store and organize your digital wardrobe
• Personalize your experience and provide style recommendations
• Show local weather in the App when you have allowed location access (we do not retain your location on our servers for this)
• Communicate with you about updates, features, or support
• Ensure the security and integrity of our services
• Comply with legal obligations

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

• Service Providers: We work with third-party service providers (such as cloud storage and AI processing services) who assist us in operating the App. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
• With Your Consent: We may share your information for other purposes with your explicit consent.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and security measures. We use Supabase for data storage, which provides:

• Encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL)
• Encrypted data at rest
• Regular security audits and updates
• Access controls and authentication
• Row-level security policies to protect your data

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

• Account Data: Stored until you delete your account
• Wardrobe & Outfits: Stored until you delete them or your account
• Fit Check Scans: Recent scans (not saved to your outfits) are automatically deleted after 2 months. Saved scans are kept until manually deleted.
• Account Deletion: When you delete your account, all associated data (wardrobe, outfits, scans, profile) is permanently removed within 30 days.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: You can access your personal data through the App at any time.
• Correction: You can update or correct your account information in the App settings.
• Deletion: You can delete your account and associated data at any time through the App settings. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data from our systems within 30 days.
• Export: You can request a copy of your data by contacting us.
• Opt-Out: You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete such information.

9. Third-Party Services & AI Data Sharing

Our App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase: For authentication, database, and cloud storage of your wardrobe and scan data. See Supabase Privacy Policy.
• OpenAI (GPT-4o): For AI-powered analysis of your outfit and clothing photos. Images are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. See OpenAI Privacy Policy.
• Apple Sign-In / Google Sign-In: For secure authentication (optional).
• Apple Weather (WeatherKit): When you allow location access, we may request current weather from Apple’s WeatherKit so the temperature and conditions shown in the App align closely with Apple’s Weather app. Apple processes this request according to their policies. See Apple Privacy Policy. If WeatherKit is unavailable, we may use Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), a non-commercial weather API, with your coordinates only for that request.

AI Photo Analysis – Full Disclosure

Three features in FitCheck AI use OpenAI's API to analyse photos: Fit Checker, Wardrobe (Piece Analyzer), and Wishlist Scanner. No photo is ever transmitted to OpenAI without a direct action by you (tapping a scan or analysis button).

Before your first use of any AI feature, the app displays a consent screen that clearly explains:

• What data is sent: The photo you choose to scan — a picture of your outfit or clothing item.
• Who receives it: OpenAI, L.L.C. (openai.com), based in the United States.
• Purpose: Style feedback, outfit scoring, and clothing categorisation.
• Retention by OpenAI: OpenAI does not store or train on images submitted via the API. Images are used solely to generate the analysis response and are not retained beyond that processing period. See OpenAI API Data Usage Policies.
• Retention by FitCheck AI: We store only the text analysis result and a reference to the image you have already saved in your wardrobe. We do not separately store a copy of your photo for AI purposes.

By creating an account and using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy, including the AI photo processing described above. You may withdraw consent at any time by disabling AI features in your Profile settings; AI-powered functionality will be unavailable until you re-enable it.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with applicable laws.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
