1. Introduction
Welcome to FitCheck AI ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience when using our mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, username, and profile picture (optional).
- Style Profile: During onboarding, we collect your gender, age range, style preferences, clothing sizes, and style goals to personalise your experience.
- Photos and Images: When you use our Fit Checker, Wardrobe, Wishlist, or Virtual Try-On features, you upload photos of your outfits, clothing items, or yourself. These images are processed by our AI to provide analysis, recommendations, and virtual try-ons.
- Body Photo (Virtual Model): If you choose to set up a Virtual Model, you upload a full-body photo of yourself. This image is stored securely in your private storage bucket and is used solely to generate your virtual try-on model. You can delete it at any time from Profile settings.
- User Content: Outfit combinations, piece descriptions, tags, and any other content you create within the App.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: We collect information about the device you use to access the App, including device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
- Push Notification Token: If you grant notification permission, we collect your device's APNs (Apple Push Notification service) token and store it securely in your account. This token is used solely to deliver try-on completion and virtual model notifications to your device. We do not use it for marketing without your explicit consent.
- Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the App, including features used, actions taken, and time spent in the App.
- Analytics Data: We use analytics tools to help us understand App usage patterns and improve our services.
- Approximate Location (optional — for local weather): If you choose to allow location access when prompted, the App uses your device's approximate coordinates only to show current weather in the Wardrobe screen. We do not store your location on our servers. Coordinates are sent only to Apple's WeatherKit service, or to Open-Meteo as a fallback. You can deny location access in iOS Settings at any time.
2.3 Subscription, Credits, and Purchase Information
The App offers auto-renewable subscriptions and a credit system used by AI-powered features such as Virtual Try-On and Virtual Model creation. We record subscription state (active / inactive / in free trial), credit balances, purchases, and usage in your account so the App can grant access and credits accurately. Payment transactions, free-trial eligibility, renewal, and cancellation are handled entirely by Apple's App Store; we do not receive or store your payment card details. We receive only a cryptographically verified confirmation from Apple's StoreKit that a purchase or renewal occurred. For full subscription terms, see our Terms of Service.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our App and services
- Process and analyse your outfit photos using our AI technology
- Generate virtual try-on images by combining your body photo and garment images
- Store and organise your digital wardrobe and Virtual Fits
- Personalise your experience and provide style recommendations
- Manage your credit balance and validate in-app purchases
- Send push notifications about try-on completion, virtual model readiness, and (with your consent) product updates
- Show local weather in the App when you have allowed location access
- Enforce rate limits to protect service availability and prevent abuse
- Communicate with you about updates, features, or support
- Ensure the security and integrity of our services
- Comply with legal obligations
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- AI Processing Providers: Your garment photos and body photo are sent to third-party AI services (OpenAI and Fashn AI) solely to generate analysis results and virtual try-on images. See Section 9 for full disclosure.
- Push Notification Infrastructure: Your device token is transmitted to Apple's APNs servers to deliver notifications. Apple's privacy policy governs this transmission.
- Other Service Providers: We work with Supabase (database and storage) and other providers who assist in operating the App. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- With Your Consent: We may share your information for other purposes with your explicit consent.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and security measures. We use Supabase for data storage, which provides:
- Encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL)
- Encrypted data at rest
- Regular security audits and updates
- Access controls and authentication
- Row-level security policies so only you can access your own data
Your body photo (for Virtual Model) and garment images are stored in private Supabase Storage buckets. Signed, time-limited URLs are used to access them; they are never publicly accessible. While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data as follows:
- Account Data: Stored until you delete your account.
- Wardrobe, Outfits & Virtual Fits: Stored until you delete them or your account.
- Body Photo (Virtual Model): Stored until you remove it from Profile settings or delete your account.
- Virtual Try-On Jobs: Job records are retained for operational purposes. Generated images are stored in your account until deleted.
- Push Notification Token: Stored in your account and updated on each app launch. Removed when you delete your account.
- Fit Check Scans: Recent scans not saved to your wardrobe are automatically deleted after 2 months. Saved scans are kept until manually deleted.
- Account Deletion: When you delete your account, all associated data (wardrobe, outfits, scans, virtual try-ons, body photo, push token, profile) is permanently removed within 30 days.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: You can access your personal data through the App at any time.
- Correction: You can update or correct your account information in the App settings.
- Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through Profile → Settings. We will remove your data from our systems within 30 days.
- Body Photo Removal: You can delete your Virtual Model body photo independently of your account via Profile settings.
- Push Notifications: You can disable push notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications. The App will continue to work; you will simply not receive background completion alerts.
- AI Consent: You can withdraw consent for AI-powered features by disabling them in Profile settings.
- Export: You can request a copy of your data by contacting us.
- Opt-Out: You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.
8. Children's Privacy
Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete such information.
9. Third-Party Services & AI Data Sharing
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase: Authentication, database, and cloud storage. Supabase Privacy Policy.
- OpenAI: AI-powered analysis of outfit and clothing photos (Fit Checker, Piece Analyser, Wishlist Scanner) and AI image generation for Virtual Try-On. Images are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. OpenAI Privacy Policy.
- Fashn AI: Full-body virtual model generation. Your full-body photo is sent to Fashn AI's API to produce a photorealistic body model image, which is then stored in your private storage. Fashn AI Privacy Policy.
- Apple APNs (Push Notifications): Your device token is used to route notifications through Apple's servers to your device. Apple Privacy Policy.
- Apple Sign-In / Google Sign-In: Secure authentication (optional).
- Apple Weather (WeatherKit) / Open-Meteo: Current weather data when location access is granted. Coordinates are not retained by us.
- Superwall: Paywall and subscription management. Superwall Privacy Policy.
AI Photo Analysis — Full Disclosure
The following features send your photos to third-party AI providers:
- Fit Checker, Piece Analyser, Wishlist Scanner — photos sent to OpenAI for style analysis and clothing categorisation.
- Virtual Try-On — your garment photos and body reference are sent to OpenAI to generate a virtual try-on image.
- Virtual Model creation — your full-body photo is sent to Fashn AI to generate a photorealistic body model.
No photo is ever transmitted to an AI provider without a direct action by you (tapping a scan or generation button). Before your first use of any AI feature, the App displays a consent screen explaining what data is sent, who receives it, and how it is used.
OpenAI does not store or train on images submitted via the API. Images are used solely to generate the response and are not retained beyond that processing period. See OpenAI API Data Usage Policies.
You may withdraw AI consent at any time by disabling AI features in Profile settings. AI-powered functionality will be unavailable until you re-enable it.
10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own (including the United States, where OpenAI and Fashn AI are based). We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with applicable laws.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
